Frenchy Cyr Memorial Scholarship

Nativity’s Knights of Columbus Council 7992 will be awarding Frenchy Cyr Memorial scholarships for Catholic secondary school tuition (grades 9-12) for the 2023-2024 school year.  As a reminder, entrants must be registered parishioners at Nativity, or a son, daughter, or grandchild of an active member of Council 7992.  Application form submissions are due no later than midnight, Friday, April 21, 2023.

These six scholarships of $1000 each, for Catholic secondary school education tuition will be awarded to the son or daughter of registered parish members or the son, daughter or grandchild of Council 7992 members who best exemplify the traits of perseverance, effort, and contribution to his or her community.

One scholarship will be awarded to the eighth-grade student with the highest score and has been designated the Simon C. Kralik Memorial Scholarship; all entrants, including eighth-grade students, will compete for the remaining scholarships.

Applicants must meet these three requirements:

  1. The applicant must be a registered member of Nativity Catholic Church in Burke, Virginia; or a daughter, son, or grandchild of an active member of the Fr. Vincent S. Sikora, Knights of Columbus Council No. 7992.
  2. Entry is limited to 8th-grade students who will attend Catholic secondary (high) school during the 2023-2024 academic year.
  3. The scholarship award may only be used for Catholic secondary school tuition.
